The Rev. Clarence Quick Jr., age 78, of Laurinburg departed this life for his Heavenly home on Aug. 30, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following at Pinecrest Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Revs. Stevie Blue, Charles Barton, Bobby Sessoms, Tracy Sewell and Jonathan Bell.

Clarence was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Marlboro County, a son of the late Clarence Quick Sr. and Hattie Mae Watson Quick and raised by his grandmother (correction stepmother), the late Eva Mae Jacobs. He was the devoted husband of 52 years to the late Rosa Lee Grooms Quick.

He was a veteran that proudly served with the United States Army. He worked as a textile machinery mechanic, retiring from Waverly Mills after 45 years of service. He loved the Lord and faithfully served as a Pastor passionately working for God's kingdom. He served as Pastor for Gibson Friendship Mission Holiness Church and was the founding minister of Windy Hill Holiness Church. He loved preaching God's word, gospel music, visiting and spending time with his family, and others.

He was preceded in death by sons Ronald Clarence Quick, Danny Ray Quick and Marshall Wayne Quick; a granddaughter, Brittany Hunt; and brothers, Jesse Quick, Clyde Quick and Leroy Quick.
