Mrs. Oscar Olson
Mrs. Oscar Olson, 73, Rt. 1, Cedar Falls, died at Sartori Memorial hospital at 10:20 a.m. Sunday. She was born Etta Mae McCurdy, Feb. 5, 1883, on a farm near Reinbeck, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Reisinger) McCurdy.
She was married to Oscar G. Olson Dec. 25, 1906, at Morrison, Ia. They established their home on a farm. Since 1935 they have resided on Rt. 1, Cedar Falls.
Survivors include the husband, Oscar, a daughter, Mrs. Lillie Hooper, Hudson, and two sons, Walter E. Olson and Orville E. Olson, both of Rt. 1, Cedar Falls.
There are also three sisters and a brother. They include Mrs. Eda Plaehn, Rt. 3, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Daisy McIntyre, Morrison, Mrs. Pearl Springer, somewhere in Texas, and William McCurdy, Independence. There also are 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery two miles north of Cedar Falls.
