Lydia (Oblender) Young, age 102 years, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Carriage House of Bay City. She was born in Bay City on June 12, 1914 to the late George and Eva (Wert) Oblender.
She married Raymond Young on November 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2010 after 67 years of marriage.
Lydia was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed needlework, arts & crafts and baking-especially Christmas cookies.
Survivors include a nephew, Roy (Mary) Krenz, her nieces, Carol (Herman) Blehm and Linda Lee (Roger) Brown, her great-nephews: Michael (Patti) Krenz and Jeffrey (Theresa) Krenz, as well as many great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral and Committal Services will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Leroy Westphal will officiate. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
