She married Raymond Young on November 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2010 after 67 years of marriage.
Lydia was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed needlework, arts & crafts and baking-especially Christmas cookies.
Survivors include a nephew, Roy (Mary) Krenz, her nieces, Carol (Herman) Blehm and Linda Lee (Roger) Brown, her great-nephews: Michael (Patti) Krenz and Jeffrey (Theresa) Krenz, as well as many great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
Funeral and Committal Services will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Leroy Westphal will officiate. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
