Add PhotosThe cemetery was originally part of the plantation, French Green, purchased and built by Dr. Nicholas Joseph Bourdon (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/146542623/nicholas-joseph-bourdon) after he left the French Navy. He was a ship's surgeon during the Revolutionary War, and was present at the the Siege of Yorktown (Battle of Yorktown/Surrender at Yorktown/German Battle/Siege of Little York) ending Oct 19, 1781, at Yorktown, Virginia.
The French Green plantation house, a French Colonial style, burned down sometime around the turn of the 20th century, and a two-story house was rebuilt on the site by Thomas Castleman Bourdon, Sr. (1842-1911) (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/146543309/thomas-castleman-bourdon).
As the cemetery is located at a private residence, all due respect should be given if you wish to visit. I would suggest knocking on the door and asking permission. The cemetery cannot be seen using Google Maps Street Level, nor the Satellite views.
