Mark Bean was married to Martha Drew (Thomas) Bean on 22 Feb 1879 in Jack, Tarrant, Texas. Martha was born in Aug 1863 (1900 US Census Indian Territory, Chickasaw Nation, Township 04) to Berry Franklin Thomas and Elizabeth Jane (Price) Thomas. She died in approximately 1902. Her date of death is a determination from surviving family members sharing stories. It is believed that Martha died while traveling by covered wagon from Eastern Oklahoma to Western Oklahoma. Her son, Nicholas Bean was 9 at the time (hence, the year 1902), and remembered his family burying his mother under a tree, beside a stream near Ada, Oklahoma.
