43rd New York Infanry Regiment

The State of New York erected a monument in honor of the 43rd Regiment New York Infantry, organized at Albany, NY. Mustered into the US Service Sept 22, 1861. Served with the 6th Corp, Army of the Potomac, throughout the war. Engaged in the battles of Yorktown, WIlliamsburg, The Seven Day Battle, Crampton's Pass, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Marye's Heights, Salem Heights, Gettysburg, Rappahanock Station, Mine Run, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, North Anna, Totopotomoy, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Sailor's Creek, and Appomattox Court.
