Bio

I was adopted as an infant and raised by wonderful, loving parents. I discovered my biological family by accident in 2022. Since then I have done DNA to confirm these findings and have gone down the genealogy rabbit hole ever since. I am on a quest to document as many of my relatives and ancestors (both biological and adoptive) as I can, to preserve that connection for future generations. Please note, that if I request transfer of a memorial, rest assured, I have documentation to prove they are my ancestor. I have zero interest in "collecting" memorials for the sake of collecting. However, there are a few VERY distant relatives, whose memorials I have taken over from Find A Grave, in the hopes of finding a closer relative interested in managing it. If you are a closer family member than me, I will happily transfer the memorial. Please include your relationship and Find A Grave # when requesting transfer.
Huge shout out to all those volunteers who have given their time and efforts to create memorials, track down plot info or take photos of monuments for those of us who couldn't. (and conversely, shame on you to those who refuse to transfer memorials to direct family members, who are within the Memorial transfer guidelines - you do NOT "own" them, no matter how much you "think" you do. And to the person who chose to delete the memorials of several of my relatives out of spite instead of transferring them to me, you should be ashamed of yourself.)
In addition, my daughter and I have set up an "Ancestor" cemetery "scholarship" for any descendant of the Breck, Rid(d)lespraker, or Schafer line, who originally settled in New Bremmen, Lowville or Herkimer, New York. If any of their descendants can demonstrate a financial need/hardship and is in need of a funeral plot, we have 2 plots in the family cemetery, that we are willing to donate. These can accommodate up to 4 cremains or 2 burials. Contact information is available with the local funeral homes & the cemetery manager (the clerk of the county court) in that area.
