I am a descendant of John Murphy and Mary (White) who were pioneer settlers of Palmyra Township, Lenawee County, Michigan circa 1830. John and Mary emigrated from Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland in the 1820's: residing in (Albany?) New York before obtaining 45 acres in Michigan be way of a federal land grant for what is now 1225 Academy Road. They had 8 children.
