I was brought up by foster parents in Verdun, Quebec, since I was nine months old. Verdun and LaSalle, where I now live, are districts on the Island of Montreal.

Later, after marrying, I searched for my birth parents and siblings — and finally found them all: nine half-brothers and sisters on my mother's side, and four half-brothers and a sister on my father's side.

My heritage is English, Scottish, and Jewish.

All my working life was spent in customs and transport. In my private life, I was in lay ministry . . . a pastoral visitor for the Anglican Church of Canada, visiting patients and residents at our local hospital and senior homes.

I'm a graduate of short-story fiction. I've been writing and copyediting for about 45 years.
