Bio

First started family genealogy research in 2001. My family lived in Manhattan, Long Island City and other Queens, NY neighborhoods including Elmhurst during the era 1850 thru 1940. There are roots that go back to Ireland, Northern Ireland, France & Germany.

The surnames that I am researching in my direct line include: Hayes, Dennison, Grimes, Corr, Carroll, Hannon, Walters, Martiensen. In the course of my research, I have also followed the collateral relatives and have acquired much information about them. Collateral surnames include: Carroll, McClancy, Gibbons, Rapp, Shannon, Levins, Dorsey, Bernhard, Frey. There is one family - Peter & Mary Henderson - that existed in a parallel fashion to my Dennison line for a period in Manhattan NY during the mid 1800's. I have as yet been unable to determine what, if any, family connection exists.

I have been unable to confirm information from "across the pond," with the exception of Co. Tyrone, N. Ireland (Dungannon and Coalisland) and Hegenau, Alsace.

I am always interested in collaborating with other persons that are researching the above, or any of the collateral relatives from those branches of my family tree. There have been many visits to cemeteries in the course of my research. Where there is no marker, I indicate so. If I find a marker, I post a photo of it along with the inscription information. If I have not yet visited a particular grave, there is no comment on the inscription section.
