I am a retired Lieutenant (32 years service) with the Fort Worth Fire Department. Although I was born in Fort Worth, I spent my childhood in the North Texas Communities of White Settlement, Benbrook, and Mineral Wells. I graduated from Mineral Wells High in 1970 and moved to Fort Worth where I have lived ever since. I entered college and earned an Associate in Arts from Tarrant County College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. I then joined the Fort Worth Fire Department and spent the vast majority of my 32 year career in an administrative role. That included serving 20 years as the departments official spokesperson to the local and national news media.

After retiring I decided to research my paternal family as I did not know anything beyond the names of my grandparents. As a result I went from knowing very little to now being able to go back to family in the 1600's in Great Britain and NW Europe. Find-A-Grave has been a major tool in doing my research.
