My Maternal Grand Mother, Ruth Dawson got the flame started when we would follow her on decoration day to visit grave yards in Scott County KY. I then started researching with my Fathers side with him. We would drive to Court Houses, Libraries and make I home visits in Wayne and McCreary County KY. This was back before laptops and phones with cameras. I give my permission to use any photos that I have taken, for family trees.
I do use a lot of stuff on Ancestery.com for research but take that information with a grain of salt as sometimes erroneous information could have been added due to mistakes by the informants, much like grave stones. "Stupid is as stupid does" Ive found that when someone dies and they don't place a gravemarker at the time of burial, that years later relatives put the wrong dates, not knowlingly on the one they erect.
I am willing to transfer any memorial I may have started unless my wife or I are closer in relation to that person than you. We are researching; Tucker, Dawson, Barnhill, Sharon, Henry, Abney, Williamsons and Brinegars.
I finally won my wife over to find a grave and grave yards. When we travel or go on vacations, she'll suggest we look for photos that need to be taken nearby.
