Bio

I have been doing genealogical research for over 35 years. In that time I have published several genealogical articles in The American Genealogist, the Mayflower Descendant, and Generations, the New Brunswick, Canada, Genealogical Society's genealogical journal.

The article that was published in the Mayflower Descendant documents the descent of Richmond A. Hillard (1763-1846) from Mayflower Pilgrims John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. That article entitled, The Descendants of Richmond A. Hillard, A John Alden Line, may be downloaded at Hillard family.
The article also documents several generations of his descendants.

I co-authored with G. Christian Larsen and Ronnie E. Hawkins, Sr., the book, "The Family of Zadock Hawkins," Library of Congress Call Number CS71.H394 2005, which I published in 2005.

I compiled and wrote, "The Garn Family including Carn, Garnes, Garns and Gern," Library of Congress Call Number CS71.C2863 2011, which I published in 2011.

The second edition of the Garn book, entitled The Garn Family including Carn, Garnes, Garns, and Gern, Second Edition, and published in 2014, is available on the Internet at no cost by clicking on the above link. It may also be obtained from Indiana's Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center. Finally, it may be obtained from the Ohio Historical Society's OhioMemory.org by going to that site and searching on "Garn Family." You may also use their advanced search feature to search on "Lynn Garn" as the creator of the book.

Having frequently come across illegible grave markers at cemeteries during my genealogical research, I often found myself wishing someone had photographed and preserved the inscriptions before they had weathered so badly that they were no longer legible. So in 2012 I started adding memorials on Find A Grave as a way of preserving pictures and inscriptions of the grave markers of some of the people I've come across in my research.
