Bio

I enjoy searching for markers in cemeteries across the country. There is a certain mood in each of the cemeteries we have had the opportunity to visit, from the historical significance of a cemetery in Appalachicola, Florida, to cemeteries along the Blue Ridge Highway, or a lone headstone in Yellowstone Park or even one containing graves of people who perished in Dyea, Alaska, during the Gold Rush. Taking photos is a small way of helping others who are searching for the family history. I can't explain the feelings I had when finding an overturned headstone in the middle of a cow pasture, where one of my husband's relatives had been buried so long ago. How I wished I could have found some kind of connection with that person, and wish there was some way to have known more about them and their life.

When I am not working on some type of genealogy project, I enjoy quilting and working in my hosta garden. This year that has been difficult because of the gigantic amount of mosquitos that seem to enjoy chasing us down and driving us back inside.
