Bio
I live on a farm in the North Eastern (Pea Ridge) area of Union County, South Carolina. Unlike my and my wife's ancestors who almost all made a living by farming - I am not a farmer. I am the Director of Spiritual Care and Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) at CaroMont Regional Medical Center (formerly Gaston Memorial Hospital) in Gastonia North Carolina. I am certified as an ACPE Clinical Pastoral Educator. In addition, I am an Adjunct Professor of Religion at the University of South Carolina Union where I teach such courses as Religion in the American South, Psychology of Religion, Religion and Culture, New and Old Testament. From November, 2000 until December 31, 2020, I served as the Stated Supply Pastor for Lockhart and Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Churches (PCUSA) for 20 years (2000-2020). Jennie and I have one son S. Scott Lemons who died in 2011.
I have much interest in researching my family roots. Right now most of my energy is consumed in searching for information on the Lemons, Garner, Vanderford and Sealy families. I have traced my Lemons lineage back to the early 1800's - to my great-great-grandfather/ grandmother (Joseph and Sarah Ann Turner Lemons of Pickens County SC. Please contact me if I can be of any help to you or if you can be of help to me in my research.
