Bio

I am Earnest's grandson. Granddaddy (as he was called) lived his final years in a small trailer park near our home in Cottondale. Where he lived was just across the Hwy from our street. I don't know when or why, but he'd had to have a tracheotomy(not sure of spelling) so communicating with him, for me was always difficult. Now as an adult I wish I had taken more time to try to though. He, his wife Mary Jones and several other relatives are buried at Old Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens County, Alabama. I have children of my own and am always encouraging them to spend as much time with their maternal grandparents (my kids live right behind them) as they can because one day they will be gone. We should all treasure the elder members of our families, they will leave us one day and then it's too late.

UPDATE:
I have since finally moved back home to Alabama, near Ozark after nearly 20 years. My children, in the past year have lost two grandparents, my mother and their maternal grandfather. I hope they are learning to appreciate the time with their remaining grandparents and that their time on this Earth is limited.

Update II
I have decided to make the effort to try to help others that I can by trying to provide photos of loved ones grave sites. Any memorials that I create have been researched on FAG to at least try to prevent duplicates. If you are a direct relative of a person whose memorial I place I will GLADLY transfer it to you. If I find an existing memorial, I will simply add the photos that I take to them. I currently live in Zip Code 36360 and am willing to travel a REASONABLE distance. The exception is that I am from the Tuscaloosa area and make periodic trips up there and so might be able to look in that area from time to time. I may not check my messages regularly so replies might take a little while.(sorry)
