He married Jane E. Gallaher on Jan. 7, 1848 at the Presbyterian Church in Ralls Co., MO. Jane's father, the Rev. Allen Gillespie Gallaher, performed the wedding ceremony. Hezekiah and Jane had five children together before his early death.
The cause of Hezekiah's death is, at this time, unknown, but an epidemic wave is the suspected cause. There were a lot of deaths locally and in the family in both 1862 and 1864. Even though Hezekiah died during the Civil War, no evidence has, at this point, been located to indicate he was a victim of that war.
