Mr. Bobby Joe Hand, age 71, of Camden, TN, died September 13, 2011, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville TN. He was born on February 23, 1940 in Hazlehurst, GA, to the late Carl and Naomi Carter Hand.
He was a resident of Benton County for 27 years after moving here from Atlanta, GA. He retired from Martin Marietta Cement in Atlanta and also retired as the manager of Benton County Co-op. He served as a Medic and Sharpe-shooter in the United States Army and held the SP4 rank. He was a member of Flatwoods United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Madge Hand of Camden TN, whom he married 14 Mar 1965; a daughter, Leanne Hand of Atlanta GA.; brothers, Raymond and Gail Hand of Guam, Carl and Sandy Hand Jr. of Tucson, AZ; Sisters, Mae Sandiford, and Brenda Hughes of Hazlehurst, GA.; Yvonne [Bob] Dyer and Elizabeth Crystal of Pensacola, FL.; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
