MRS. L.R. RIVERS DIES FOLLOWING A LONG ILLNESS

Funeral Rites of Widely Known Woman to be at Methodist Church

Mrs. L.T. Rivers, 68, widely known Anniston woman, died at the home of her son, E.L. Rivers, at 4 a.m. today following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held from the First Methodist Church at 10 o'clock Saturday morning. Rev. B.T. Waites, Dr. L.C. Branscomb and Rev. M.M. Davidson will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery with Stanley-White in charge.

Mrs. Rivers was born at Villa Rica, Ga., and came to Calhoun County soon after her marriage and for more than forty years she had been a resident of Anniston or Oxford. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and was active in religious work although her activity had been impaired by ill health for the past few years.

Surviving are two sons, E.L., and L.H. Rivers, both of Anniston; a daughter, Mrs. C.E. McCary, of this city; two brothers, George Howell, of Atlanta, and R.L. Howell, of Tampa, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Orrin Dickson, of San Antonio, Texas.
