Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late James Ford and Frances Roe Thackston.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Va. She was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church, XYZ Club, Ceramics Club, Friendship Sunday School Class, and was active in all other activities of the church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four daughters, Johnnie Virginia Anderson, an attorney in Georgia, Mary Kathryn Sloan of Pumpkintown, Frances Juanita Pascal and her husband Ernie, of Georgia, and Eva Marie Tilley and her husband Michael, of Travelers Rest; a son, James Ford Anderson and his wife Rhonda, of Greer; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with Dr. James Wooten officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Earle Street Baptist Church, 225 W. Earle St., Greenville, SC 29609.
