Donald Edward Baker, age 76, of Prairie Village, KS, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at his home. A Memorial Service will be at 9 am Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Burial will follow the service and reception at 12:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, KS 66048. Mr. Baker was born on April 4, 1936 in Osawatomie, KS. He received degrees in Hospital Administration from George Washington University and the Naval Post Graduate School. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired in 1974 as a Lieutenant Commander. Upon his Navy retirement, he passed the C.P.A. exam and returned to his native Kansas where he operated his own accounting firm for 25 years. Mr. Baker was a dedicated volunteer with the Prairie Village Lions Club and MOAA (Military Officers Association of America). Survivors include his wife, Keiko Baker; daughter, Cathan Prinzing, and her husband; 2 grandchildren, four brothers, and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
