Professional Baseball Player. She was one of three women, along with Toni Stone and Mamie Johnson, who played professionally in the Negro American Baseball League. In 1954, she was signed by the Negro League champions Indianapolis Clowns. She played second base and batted over .300. Prior to joining the Indianapolis Clowns she played second base with the North Philadelphia Honey Drippers, an all-girl professional baseball team, for five years. She had a career batting average of .368. She was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. After her career in baseball she returned to Philadelphia and completed her classes at the William Penn Business School. She worked for the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) until her retirement in 1974.
