SCHIELD, HOWARD WALTER
A funeral for Howard Walter Schield of Northeast Portland will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Caldwell's Colonial Mortuary. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Schield died of a heart attack on Sunday, Oct. 29 in his home at the age of 67.
Born Dec. 26, 1921 in Gering, Nebraska, he had lived in Portland since he was 16. Mr. Schield worked for Willamette Western for a number of years until his retirement in 1984. He had been a member of the Teamsters Union for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Dollie M. DeCamp of Puyallup, Wash., Linda L. Olsen of Oregon City; mother, Mary of Portland; sisters, Leona Ernest of North Carolina and Esther Heimbuck of Beaverton; brother, Willard of Portland and two grandchildren.
His wife, Lillian Schield, died in 1987.
