(May 13, 1931 - January 22, 2014)

Almeta Kennedy, 82, of Omaha, NE passed away peacefully on January 22, 2014 at home where she lived with her granddaughter, Joele Ann (Kennedy) Randall & husband Rance & family.

Olive "Almeta" Chase was born in Bloomfield, NE, the daughter of Grace Emily (Campbell) & Joseph Nelson Chase.

Almeta Chase & Edward Donald Kennedy were married & later divorced. They had two sons. She later married Paul Cave, the love of her life. They were married for many years.

Survivor's include her two sons; Joseph Edward (Paula) Kennedy of Omaha, NE & Gary Paul (Gina) Kennedy of Council Bluffs, IA, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews & cousins along with countless friends.

Preceding her in death were both husbands; her parents; two brothers; Glenn Aroultis Chase & Lloyd Collins Chase, & her sister, Constance Muriel Moman.

To some of us she was known as Aunt Meta, our dearly beloved Aunt. Sometimes we just called her Aunt. Like there were no more than just her. That's how special she was.

A Letter from Heaven

When tomorrow starts without me
and I'm not here to see.
If the sun should rise and find your
eyes filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn't cry
the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things
we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
And each time you think of me
I know you'll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart.
For everytime you think of me
I'm right there in your heart.
TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVED ME

When I am gone, release me. Let me go-
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave to you my love. You can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown
But now it's time I traveled on alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near-
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile, and "Welcome Home".

My Aunt

I thought I saw her face today
In the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
"Her work on earth is done."

I thought I heard her voice today
Then laugh her hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
"There's peace little one at last."

I thought I felt her touch today
In the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The spirit never dies."

I thought that she had left me
For the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
"She left you with her love."

I thought that I would miss her
And never find my way.
And then I heard the angel say,
"She's with you every day."Daughter of Joseph Nelson Chase and Grace Emily Campbell Chase. Wife of Paul Cave.
