Three Well Known and Respected Residents Answer the Last Summons

The Death Came to All Within a Short Time of Each Other

MRS. MARY J. GIBSON

Mrs. Mary J. Gibson, widow of the late James H. Gibson, died Sunday, May 17, at 1:45 p.m. at her home on east Second street, of hypostatic pneumonia, the result of a fractured hip sustained just eight weeks ago today.

She was born in Worcester, Ky., April 5, 1842, and came to this city at the age of two years, since which time she has been a constant resident of Madison, having all these years lived within two squares of her present residence.

Her maiden name was Mary J. Hardenbrook, she being the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth Hardenbrook, well-known pioneer residents of this city.

She was married March 14, 1863, to Jas. H. Gibson by Rev. John K. Pye. To this union were born six children: Edward H. Gibson, Mrs. N.A. Davison, Gertrude E. Gibson, Wm. H. Gibson, John J. Gibson and Mrs. Mabel Robinson, all of whom are left to mourn her loss, except her youngest son, John, whose death occurred September 5, 1912.

Besides her immediate family and seven grand-children, she leaves two brothers, Capt. Wm. Hardenbrook, of Oklahoma, and Mrs. John Hardenbrook, of Iowa, and a sister, Mrs. Luther, also of Iowa.

She joined the Methodist church at the age of eight years, but at the time of her death was a member of the First Presbyterian church, of this city.

She leaves many friends who deeply sympathize with the bereaved family in this, their deepest sorrow.

The time of the funeral will be announced later.
