KINGSTOWN ~ Mrs. Jessie Mae Alston, 72, of 1509 Williamson Road, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
She was the daughter of the late Jessie Mathis and the late Jack and Maggie Finney Jennings. She was a resident of Philadelphia and was a member of Grace Tabernacle Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Alston; and one son, Dennis Nixon.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Hester of Philadelphia; two sons, Bobby Jennings (Eva) of Kingstown and Christopher Alston of Charlotte; two granddaughters, Jessica Jennings of Charlotte and Clarissa Jennings of Kingstown; one great-grandson, McKayla Jennings; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel at Enloe Mortuary with Bishop W.A. Mitchell and the Rev. James L. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Temple Holiness Church Cemetery.
