∼Verna Rose Dickerson, 55, of Crosbyton died at 7:30 p.m. March 12 in a Dallas hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. March 15 in Crosbyton First Baptist Church. Loyd Hall, minister of the Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 16, 1923 in Knox County, Texas. She moved to Crosbyton from Petersburg in 1950. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton.
She is survived by four sons: Roy Hobbs, Charlie Hobbs and James Hobbs all of Dallas; Jerry Hobbs of San Jose, Calif.; one son preceded her in death in 1965; two daughters, Ann White of Brownwood and Becky Diamond of Crosbyton; three brothers: Carl Riley of Sacramento, Calif., W.O. (Dub) Riley, Petersburg, A.D. (PeeWee) Riley, Glover, Okla; four sisters: Lena Mae McCloud, Alvarado, Texas; Mollie Yoder, Stringtown, Okla.; Bonnie Groves, Oklahoma City, Okla; and 17 grandchildren.
