Lucille was a bookkeeper for her husband at the A. Dooley Shaud Plumbing and Heating Co. until his death in 1959. She then worked for Floyd P. Bucher and Sons for 25 years until her retirement in 1983. After her retirement, Lucille volunteered in the gift shop at St. Vincents Hospital.
Lucille sang with the Sweet Adelines for many years, was on a bowling league, and enjoyed crocheting. For many years she hosted large family gatherings in her home on Christmas Eve. She liked to travel to places like New York City and Hawaii. Lucille always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her neices and nephews.
