Susan is the daughter of Solomon Shuford and Clarissa "Clara" Speagle. She married James A Ramsey in 1892 and they are the parents of Clara Elizabeth "Lizzie", Olin, Ethel, James, Julius and Ollie Ramsey.
Lizzie and Olin would precede her in death.
