TROY - Bruce L. Rice, 56, of Troy, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at his residence, following an extended illness.

He was born June 16, 1950, in Troy, to the late Ernest and Eileen (Davis) Rice.

Mr. Rice is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra (Hartman) Rice; two daughters, Wendy and Mary Rice, both of Troy; son, Jeff Rice of Troy; and two granddaughters, Ali and Kristen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Rice.

Mr. Rice was a 1969 graduate of Troy High School, where he participated in football and was a state wrestling champ. He loved the outdoors and athletics. He retired from BF Goodrich after nearly 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Troy, Eagles Lodge in Troy, Troy Fish & Game and AMVETS.

At Mr. Rice's request, private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.
