Peggy J. Campbell-Danner, age 71, of Joplin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Landmark Hospital, following a brief illness.

Peggy was born on Sept. 3, 1940, in Joplin, the daughter of the late Lester and Tessie (Sowersby) Lawson. She lived in the Joplin area most of her life. Peggy worked several years as an accountant for Mason-Woodard Mortuary. She then worked for Carl Junction School District and retired in 2003. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Peggy was an accomplished artist. She had a wonderful personality and she thoroughly enjoyed a good conversation, as well as a good laugh.

She married Charles Campbell in Jan. 26 1957, in Joplin. Together they raised their son, Mel and daughter, René.

Charles preceded her in death Dec. 2, 1989.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, René; and her brother, Rockne Lawson.

She married John Danner on May 26, 1995. He survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Mel Campbell and wife, Stephanie, Perkins, Okla.; one stepson, Eric Danner and wife, Tara, Joplin; one stepdaughter, Kimber Shields and husband, Matthew, Carl Junction, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Breanna Grove, Dustin Campbell, Rebecca Myers, Heather Sartin, Hannah Hughes, Brian Shields and Stephen Shields; and three great-grandchildren, Gracyn Grove, Ethan Grove and Avery Grove.
