BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Altie E. Dees, 88, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. She was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Halltown, Ala., to Gain and Velma Dessie Devaney Mitchell. She is the widow of William Woodrow Dees. She was a lifelong servant of God and a faithful member of the East Willow Church of God in Scottsville. Her passion was her family and working with her church, missions and spreading the Gospel. She was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Unity Church of God of Prophecy in Saltillo with the Rev. Jeremy Carter, the Rev. Tim Winters and the Rev. Danny Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Ratliff community. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Dees of Scottsville, Ky., and Pete Dees (Debi) of Okolona; two daughters, Uvohn Eden (Fredrick Wayne) of Bowling Green, Ky., and Wanda Gail Dees of Scottsville; grandchildren, Angela Turner of Bowling Green, Amanda Turner Goodin (Nathan) of Tupelo, Danny Dees of Destin, Fla., Scott Dees (Casi) of Mooreville, Michael Dees (Chasity) of Tupelo, Amy Upton of Scottsville, Tonya McCaine of Guntown, Lavonne Hellman (Bob) of Bowling Green, Janissa Eden of Portland, Tenn., and Jason Eden (Melissa) of Bowling Green; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Angelena Turner and Hazel Kennedy; and a grandson, Rodney Allen Long.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Scott and Daniel Dees, Adam Hampton, Ricky Rayburn and Bob Hellman.
Visitation will be will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
