Robert Eugene Harkins who is my paternal grandfather is the son of Joseph Tillman and Louisa (Galloway) Harkins. He married Olivia "Ollie" Green on 17 May 1898 in Maylene, Alabama and and to this union 5 sons were born. They were St. Paul, Robert Harry, Louis James, Joe Harlous, Earl Honix, & Fred Harkins.

Robert Eugene Harkins was killed in a coal mine explosion in Blocton, Alabama when his youngest son, Fred Harkins was only 2 years old, leaving his wife, Ollie with 5 boys to raise by herself. All Robert's & Ollie's children are now deceased.

Robert had 3 brothers, Jesse Edward, Pulaski "Kye" Lacey, & Effie Ruport Harkins and 1 sister, Sallie Harkins. All are deceased and I am certain all died and are buried in Alabama.

I am in the process of finding out the cemeteries in which they are buried. If anybody can help me, I would appreciate it. Kaye Harkins McClintock
