1954 - 2012

Sandra Kay Adkins, of Madison, passed away July 10, 2012, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

She was the daughter of Rev. Robert and the late Florence Pennington of Branchland.

Sandra was an avid flower gardener and had beautiful flowers every summer. She was the co-owner of Laus Deo Candle Company and closed the business to care for her mother and father. Her loving, caring spirit and many acts of kindness will always be remembered.

She was preceded in death by nephews, Earl Lee Pennington Jr., and Steve Pennington. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mitchell Adkins, daughter, Kimberly Adkins, brothers, Ken (Debbie) Pennington of Pleasant View, Earl (Terry) Pennington of West Hamlin and Charles (Drema) Pennington of Harrisville;
sisters, Diana (Doug) McComas of Madison, Linda (Randy) Adkins of Madison and Connie (Bill) Warner of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law, Don (Tammy) Adkins of Ohio; sister-in-law, Connie (Darrell) Burton of Parkersburg; nephews, Lee Pennington, Ryan Pennington, Robbie Pennington and Michael Adkins; nieces, Ann Marie Boyce, Abby Caldwell, Sarah Burton, Stacy Adkins and Olivia Adkins; and great-nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Handley Funeral Home, Hamlin, with the Rev. Tim Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery, Branchland.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service Friday.
