Jo F. Kretchet Adams, age 89, of Columbus, Ks., passed away at 5:15 p.m. at Freeman West Hospital of Joplin, Mo, after a short illness.

The daughter of John Francis and Lena Ferrero Kretchet Sr., she was born September 11, 1909 at Turk, north of Columbus. She graduated from Cherokee County Community High School at Columbus in 1927.

She married Walter "Bill" Adams in 1939 at Fort Wayne, Ind. He preceded her in death in 1971.

She was a life member of Pursel Chapter 110 Order of Eastern Star of Columbus, a 50 year member of the Rebecca Lodge of Columbus and a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbus.

Survivors include two sisters, Mae Meeds of Baxter Springs and Rose Ricks of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Nell Munze in 1992, and one brother, John Kretchet Jr. in 1996.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Park Cemetery of Columbus with Jerry Lloyd officiating. Friends may call at the Murdock Funeral Home in Columbus.
