Laid to Rest Here Tuesday
John Theodore Davis, age 93, died at the home of his nephew W S. Davis in Many 3:30 p.m. Saturday after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Catholic church 9 a.m. Monday, by Rev. Father J. A. Benoit with interment in the Catholic cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home.
Pallbearers were Harold and Hubert Andries, James Davis, James Corbitt, Norman Buvens and Jack Hubley, all great nephews.
Surviving are: sister, Mrs. Mary Armstrong, Many; nieces and nephews as follows: Mrs. Clara Davis, Mrs. Cecile Andries, Emmett H. Armstrong, W. S. Davis, Mrs. L. F. Locke, Mrs. George D. Cobbs, Mrs. C. J. Hubley and Mrs. F. N. Buvens, all of Many, R. C. and J. G. Davis, and Mrs. H. H. Delhomme, all of Port Neches, Texas.
Mr. Davis in his younger life was an active farmer, lumberman and other industries. He owned at the time of his death valuable farming and timber land adjoining the city of Many.
