Elene Pruit, 79, of Silver City, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in Tucson, Ariz. A memorial service was held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel today, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 3 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date. She is survived by her husband, Lou Pruit; two daughters, Gaylene Long of Tucson and Tammy Perez of Silver City; a son, Jake Pruit (Kaye) of Belleville, Ill.; sisters, Dorothy Hedges of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wanita Wierzowiecki (Jimmy) of La Marque, Texas; brother, Don Eaton (Mary) of Austin, Texas; and five grandchildren, Ronnie Pruit of Boise, Idaho, Darr Pruit of Belleville, Ill., Nathan Gonzales of Silver City, Justin Gonzales of Tucson, and Aaron Perez, also of Tucson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Eaton and Nettie Thomas; five brothers; and two sisters. Elene Pruit was born July 27, 1933, in Mason, Texas. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. She loved bowling, playing bridge with her friends, and spending time with her children. She spent most of her time as a clerical worker with American National Bank and Grant County Bank. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
