Roberta Blacksmith, 81, of Rosebud, began her journey to the Spirit World Monday, January 10 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary Ellen Farmer of Rosebud; Wanita Faye Thomas of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A one night wake will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 13 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Rosebud. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 14th at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Rosebud with Rev. Amar Bage, SJ. conducting services and Traditional Lakota Prayers offered by Mr. Roy Stone. Burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, in St. Francis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Blacksmith, and two sons, Tony Blacksmith and Ernie Blacksmith, Sr.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rooks Funeral Chapel of Mission.
