Gary was drafted 21 October 1965 into the US Army.
When Gary arrived in Vietnam 15 April 1966, he was assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division, USARV. B Company was on a combat patrol south of the Filhol Plantation, when several soldiers walked into a hostile mine field detonating several mines. Gary and 9 soldiers died as a result of shrapnel wounds to the body from the mine explosions.
Survived by his parents, Mr & Mrs Orin Brennan of 2522 Wake Worth Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
