William J. "Boz" Bozovich , 54, of Cokeburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 20, 2007, in the emergency room of Washington Hospital.

He was born August 27, 1952, in Charleroi, a son of Delores Nixon Bozovich of Bentleyville and the late Joseph Bozovich .

Mr. Bozovich was a 1974 graduate of Bentworth High School and was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1974.

He had been employed by Bethlehem Mines Corp. as an underground miner for several years before a disability prompted an early retirement. He then owned and operated Bentworth Community Activity Center until retiring in 1994.

He had a great love for music and was a well-known local musician playing in several area bands including Good Neighbor band, Double Header, Willie and the Whistlepigs and most recently, Mudbone Flats and Rogue Gallery. He also belonged to St. George Croation Fraternal Union Lodge 354 of Cokeburg.

On September 17, 1977, he married Christine A. Sabolsky, who survives.

Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Bozovich and wife Annete and Bradley Bozovich and wife Charlene, both of Bentleyville; an uncle, Stanley Bozovich of Sunset Beach, N.C.; an aunt, Margaret Robson of Bensalem; four nephews, Bryan Bozovich and wife Trish of Somerset, Barrett Bozovich and wife Missy of Bentleyville, Robert Bozovich of Ellsworth and Matthew Bozovich of Bentleyville; a niece, Carly Bozovich of Bentleyville; and several cousins.

Deceased, in addition to his father, are two uncles, Michael and George Bozovich .

Friends will be received from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, with the Rev. Edward Burdett officiating. Interment will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bentleyville American Legion War Memorial Fund, 500 Main St., Bentleyville, PA 15314.
