Margaret Ann Ocobock, age 60, of Ash Township, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Karmanos in Detroit, Michigan.
Friends may visit in the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monroe, MI on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM. She will lie instate from 9 AM until time of service. Father Marc Gawronski will officiate the service. Burial will be in Huron Valley Cemetery, Flat Rock, Michigan.
Born on May 6, 1952 in Monroe, Michigan, she was the daughter of Donald and Mary (DeSchutter) Shavalia. On May 18, 1979 she married Ronald Ocobock in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Monroe, MI.
She was a Ward Technician for Mercy Memorial Hospital for 38 years until retiring in 2010.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Monroe. Margaret loved to write a new Christmas poem every year to send with her cards to friends and relatives. She enjoyed helping out in her daughter's 3rd grade classroom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Fred Shavalia, and sister, Mary Joan Ridner.
Surviving is her husband, Ronald Ocobock of Ash Township; daughter, Brianna (Robert) Niefert of Wyandotte; 3 brothers, Thomas (Pat) Chevalier of Houghton Lake, Stanley Shavalia of Monroe and Joseph Shavalia of Monroe, 2 sisters, Pauline Shavalia of Monroe and Rose (Claude) Duncan of LaSalle.
Memorials may be made to Karmanos Cancer Center or the Relay for Life team for Memorial Elementary School.
