Oren M. HENDRICKSON, 530 Pontiac street, died Sunday at 10:30 p.m. in Woodlawn hospital. Mr. Hendrickson, retired Rochester businessman, was 85 years of age. In ill health since May 26, he had been admitted to the hospital on Sept. 15. Death was due to carcinoma. Mr. Hendrickson had lived in Rochester 51 years and before his retirement had spent over 50 years in the lumber business. For many years he was co-owner of the H. and H. Lumber company here, now the Fulton County Lumber Company. Born Feb. 19, 1877, near Grass Creek, he was the son of Edwin and Caroline ESTABROOK HENDRICKSON and came to Rochester from Chicago. He was married Sept. 5, 1907, in Chicago, to Minnie Imogene HAINES, who survives. Mr. Hendrickson was an active member of the First Presbyterian church, serving as an Elder at the time of his death and as church treasurer for 30 years. He was a past president of the Rochester Kiwanis club and a member of the Rochester Masonic and Royal Arch lodges and the Elks and the I.O.O.F. lodges. A member of the Rochester-Fulton county library board, he served as its president many years. Surviving, besides the wife, are two sisters, Mrs. John SWARTWOOD, Cummings, Ga. and Mrs. Joesph BARNETT, Rochester, and several nieces and nephews. A son, James Oren [HENDRICKSON], died in infancy. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. James SCHUMACHER officiating. Burial will be in the Grass Creek cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
