Tom's only living daughter Julia Ann Buttrill married Rubin Andrew Cherry and inherited the Buttrill Ranch, thus beginning the Cherry ownership of the large Buttrill Ranch, which continues to the present. Julia lived to age 94 years.
Tom's confederate grave marker was installed by E.B. Cherry, 1 Aug 1931.

Gravesite Details
The Butrill Family Cemetery is located off the FM road about .5 mile and is surrounded by a chain link fence, with a gate on the north side. The cemetery is located inside the private ranch property boundaries and cattle graze around the cemetery.
