Edwin Joseph; the fourth of five sons and ninth of eleven children for Joseph and Margaret Fehlner Herrmann, was a hard and dedicated worker starting at an early age.

He began his employment with Bausch and Lomb at age 14 on Sept 01, 1926 and completed 51 years of service retiring in 1977 (as the Accounting Dept. Manager.)

He married Margaret Mary Flager on November 21, 1940 in Sts. Peter & Paul R.C.C. and they began their lives together in Victor, Ontario County where their first two children were born. Deciding to move their growing family into the city, Edwin and Margaret moved to Post Avenue in the nineteenth ward of Rochester and after their third child was born made the decision to purchase a home at 616 Sawyer Street nearby where they would continue to raise their family.

Edwin and Margaret were blessed with 6 children, three sons and three daughters; however, their second son William was called Home to his Heavenly Father the same day he day born, May 13, 1949. Their home resounded with the sounds of children at play and a Mother busy cooking and sewing for her growing family of 5. With everyone enrolled in parochial school, Edwin was very involved in his parish at Our Lady of Good Council and the family spent weekends visiting family after mass. He also was actively involved in the 19th Ward Democratic Club.

Planning for his retirement, Edwin and Margaret purchased property in East Bloomfield and joined St. Bridget's Parish in the early 70's. It was there they enjoyed their remaining years together until Margaret passed away on August 29th 1981. That day sparkle went out in Edwin's eyes. He was a man of few word's; but his eyes said it all.
