Hope Hinojos Garcia, 84, of San Angelo, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 in a local care center. Rosary was held Monday, April 23, 2012 in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Hope was born Nov. 12, 1927, in San Angelo, to Frank and Susie (Serrano) Hinojos. She was a homemaker. Hope married Cruz Garcia Jr. Feb. 21, 1946, in Christoval. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1980.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her daughter, Rose Garcia Phimister, of San Angelo; son Cruz H. Garcia III of San Angelo; brothers Charlie Hinojos and wife Elia and Pete Hinojos, all of San Angelo; sisters Nellie Tarin of San Angelo and Emma Hernandez of Lubbock; grandchildren Belinda Garcia Highnote and husband Norman of Oregon and Justin Walker of San Angelo; and great-granddaughter Emma Garcia Highnote of Oregon.
Pallbearers will be Justin Walker, David Garcia, Josh Hernandez, Frank Hinojos, Lee H. Soto, Roy Seiver and Mickael Garcia.
