Matthew Wayne Pahmahmie, 23, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on April 20, 2012 at the Horton Community Hospital. He was born on November 23, 1988 in Hiawatha, Kansas, the son of Johnny and Laura Negonsott Pahmahmie.

Matthew had most recently worked at the Golden Eagle Casino in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe.

Survivors include his mother, Laura Pahmahmie and step father, Michael Shopteese of Horton, Kansas; brothers, Skyler Pahmahmie and Thomas Pahmahmie both of Horton, Kansas; grandmother, Patricia I. Negonsott of Effingham, Kansas; step brother, Michael Fisher Shopteese of Mayetta, Kansas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Pahmahmie, sister, Amber Pahmahmie, grandfather, Emery Negonsott and grandmother, Josephine Nelson.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Kickapoo Community Building on the Kickapoo Reservation.

The family will greet friends Monday evening from 7 to 8:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Burial will be at the Negonsott Cemetery. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
