Frances Margaret Bond

JONESBORO — Frances Margaret (Lucas) Bond, 86, of Jonesboro died Sunday morning, December 3, 2007, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Lake City, Frances lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She worked for several years as a cashier for R.J. Mooney Supermarket and Gene Stimson Supermarket in Jonesboro. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she taught vacation Bible school.

Frances was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of Valley View Modern EHC Club and attended Mount Carmel United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lebern Bond; a son, Paul Bond; and brothers, George and John Hammett, and Val, Paul and Jim Lucas.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Bond of Sherwood, Ralph and Judy Bond of Sherwood and Wayne and Sherris Bond of Jonesboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Gary Chambers and Virginia and Tucker Housley, all of Jonesboro; one brother and his wife, Bob and Edna Lucas of Somerville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ken Stallings officiating. Burial will be private.

Active pallbearers include Jeff Housley, Brian Housley, Hal Housley, Allen Chambers,

Kaleb Cheshier, Stacin Dawson and Chris Morley. Honorary pallbearers include Goldine Templeton, Lucy Cobb, Marie Baldwin, Helen Harrelson, Carol McAlister, Pat Watkins, Lucille Robbins, Peggy Hendrix, Edna Holder, Alberta Edmondson, Lucille Wimpy, Iva and Tim Kaja, Dr. Doug and Deb Maglothin, Dr. Corey Diamond, members of Valley View Modern EHC, members of Mt. Carmel UMW and many other friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10-11 at Emerson Funeral Home.

For lasting memorials the family asks that consideration be given to Central Baptist Church Building Fund or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
