Death: Joan Frances Carmichael Bryant
Joan Frances Carmichael Bryant, 62, of Rustburg, died peacefully at 6:40 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was a daughter of Irene Driskill Carmichael and the late James Lester Carmichael. Also preceding her in death was her husband, John William Eugene Bryant and a daughter Judith Lynn Bryant. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, William Eugene Bryant and girlfriend, Valerie Cowart, Tracy Lorne Bryant Sr. and his wife, Sherri, and James Oather Bryant and his wife, Yvette; a brother, Cliffton Lee Carmichael and his wife, Lynn; a sister, Regina Dawn Dickerson and her husband, Gary; five grandsons, Geoffrey, Lorne, Shawn, Chris, and Dakota, along with three granddaughters, Heather, Megan, and Arianna; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Lucas, and Michael; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbors, and a very close personal friend, Darlene Reed of California, also mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and at other times at her home on Bear Creek Road, Rustburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Mt. Zion United Methodist on Red House Road, Rustburg, with the Rev. Gerry Reed-Burkholder and long time family friend, Pastor Bill Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
