Native Houstonian; middle son of Minnie Schneider Burkhart Murbach. He enlisted at Houston on 5 May 1917 as a private in 5th Marine Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, trained at Parris Island, SC and Quantico, VA, and was sent to France on 26 Aug 1918, and soon died of spinal meningitis. Reinterred here on 13 Jan 1921; VA headstone.
