Tennie Austraila Pearl was born on 14 Feb 1884 in Texas to Samuel Pearl and an unknown mother, maiden name "Reeves" (as per Tennie's death certificate, #37505).

The photo attached here is of Tennie, her first husband James Lafayette Valentine, and one of their children.

MISC NOTES:
* Tennie's father Samuel Pearl was born in 1837 in Ohio, and moved to Salt Creek, Mason County, Illinois where he appears on the 1860 Census. The 1863 Civil War draft registration record shows him as unmarried on 01 July 1863. He moved to Texas sometime after 1863. It's unknown where he married "Reeves", but they gave birth to Tennie in Texas.

* When Tennie was 11 years old, her father (Samuel Pearl) married in 1895 to Rebecca Ann (Slaughter) Roberts. Rebecca was a widow of William David Roberts, and was the step-mother of William David Roberts' children from previous marriages, plus children of her own.

* Upon the union of her father Samuel Pearl to her step-mother Rebecca Ann Slaughter Roberts Pearl, Tennie became a step-sister to all the children/step-children belonging to Rebecca:
- John Roberts (born 1860)
- William Henry David "Henry" Roberts
- Zillie Ann Melinda Roberts
- Johnie Silvester Roberts
- Albert Minard/Minyard Roberts
- Edward Franklin "Eddie" Roberts
- Maude M "Maudie" Roberts
- Rosie Lee Roberts
- Frederick C "Fred" Roberts

By birth, Tennie was an only child. By marriages, she had nine step-siblings. However, by the time Tennie's father Samuel Pearl married to Rebecca Ann Slaughter Roberts, the only children still being raised by Rebecca would have been: Eddie Roberts, Maudie Roberts, and Fred Roberts. (The child Rosie Lee Roberts died in 1884).

When Tennie was about 15 years old, she married James Lafayette Valentine.

Tennie's first husband, James Valentine, died in Van Zandt County, Texas on 10 Dec 1913, when Tennie was 29 years old.

Tennie Australia Pearl Valentine married second to Alvin Orlando Hall. They probably married in Van Zandt County, Texas about 1915.

Tennie and Alvin had one child:
- Opal A Hall

Tennie appears on the 1920 Census, at the age of 35 years in Precinct 8, Van Zandt County, Texas with her husband and five children. They appear as: Alvin O Hall (38); Tennie A Hall (35); Lora May Valentine (12); Addie D Valentine (10); James O Valentine (9); Aulton B Valentine (7); Opel A Hall (3-7/12).

Tennie appears on the 1930 Census, at the age of 45 years, in Precinct 4, Kaufman County, Texas with her husband and three children. They appear as: Alvin O Hall (48); Tinnie A Hall (45); Opal A Hall (13); Durell A Valetine (20); Aulton B Valetine (16).

Tennie appears on the 1940 Census, at the age of 56 years, in Precinct 4, Van Zandt County, Texas with her husband, one of her sons, and her son's family. They appear as: A O Hall (59); T A Hall (56); J D Valentine (30); Thelma Valentine (23); Junita Valentine (6); Thurman Valentine (3); Margaret Valentine (1).

Tennie Austrailia Pearl Valentine Hall died on 04 June 1962 in the Alexander Hospital of Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. (Texas death certificate #37505.) Of note: the death date on her headstone is different than the death date recorded on her death certificate. The death certificate states she died on June 4th, 1962. Her headstone reads June 3rd, 1962.
